Looking Impressive August 24 2007
The San Francisco Giants helped out the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday. Now Bruce Bochy's club will attempt to aid itself when the two teams clash in tonight's opener of a three-game series from AT&T Park. Milwaukee closed the gap in the tight National League Central race despite having a day off on Thursday. That's because San Francisco defeated the division-leading Chicago Cubs by a 4-1 score in yesterday's finale of a three- game set. Matt Cain limited Chicago to one run over seven innings and also helped his cause at the plate, as the young pitcher smashed a two-run homer in the sixth inning which gave the Giants...

After a one-month stay in the minors, the 24-year-old was called up to pitch the second game of a doubleheader with Boston on Friday and performed well in a no decision. The native Dominican held the Red Sox to one...
